Ellie Phillips, a sophomore at Valley Christian High, took third in the Division 4 girls final for the second year in a row by covering the 5-kilometer layout in 19:42.9 at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state championship meet at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Phillips helped Valley Christian place second overall as a team by a 60-81 margin against Northwest Christian.
