Ellie Phillips, a freshman at Valley Christian High, took third in the Division 3 girls championship race at the Arizona Interscholastic Association state final at Cave Creek Golf Course in Phoenix. Phillips covered the 5-kilometer layout in 19:43.1 to help Valley Christian finish fourth overall with 93 points.
